Assessment of Nurses' Knowledge Regarding Preoperative Preparation at Rania Teaching Hospital

Background: The goal of preoperative care is to psychologically, physically, and emotionally prepare the patient or caregiver for procedure. Patients must be informed by nurses importance preparation before day surgery. Objectives: To assess nurses’ knowledge regarding at Rania teaching hospital. Methodology: Quantitative design, descriptive study was conducted among (32) who work surgical wards in hospital pre-operative during period 15th January 2019 up March 2019. instrument semi-constructed consisted (26) items data were collected through interviewing techniques with each sample individually. Data analyzed using (SPSS Version 23). Results: showed that most married females aged between (35-44) years old, graduated from institute barely sufficient. Regarding main finding (53.1%) had fair knowledge, (28.1%) poor (18.8%) good knowledge. Statistically significant associations found age groups, gender, qualification, experience level Conclusion: concluded samples adult age, female married, sufficient, about half diplomas, more than less 5 experience, not participated training courses related care.
